1. Service Description
AlphaStocks is a stock screening and financial research tool. We provide algorithmically generated scores, ratings, and analysis for publicly traded companies in the S&P 500 index, using mathematical models applied uniformly to publicly available financial data.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
What AlphaStocks IS: An educational and research tool for self-directed investors. A stock screener that applies published investment methodologies. A source of algorithmically computed scores.
What AlphaStocks IS NOT: A registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial planner. A provider of personalized investment advice. A portfolio management or trading service.
2. Important Investment Disclaimer
AlphaStocks is NOT a registered investment adviser under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 or any state securities law.
All scores, ratings, labels, fair value estimates, verdicts, and analytical outputs are generated by mathematical algorithms applied uniformly to publicly available data. They are not recommendations to buy, sell, or hold any security. The terms “Strong Buy,” “Buy,” “Hold,” “Neutral,” “Below Average,” and “Avoid” are algorithm-generated category labels reflecting a quantitative score, not personal recommendations.
Past performance does not guarantee future results. Backtested, hypothetical, or simulated performance results have inherent limitations.
You are solely responsible for your own investment decisions. Before making any investment, consider your own financial situation, investment objectives, risk tolerance, and consult with a qualified financial adviser.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 years old.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- Maintain the security of your password
- Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
- Maintain only one account per person
4. Subscription and Payment
AlphaStocks offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through Stripe. Your subscription automatically renews unless you cancel before the renewal date.
Cancellation: Cancel at any time through your account settings. No long-term contracts. You retain access until the end of your billing period.
Refund Policy: 30-day money-back guarantee from the date of first payment. No questions asked. The guarantee applies to the initial subscription purchase only, not renewals.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Scrape, crawl, or automated-collect data using bots or scripts
- Redistribute, republish, or resell any data, scores, or content
- Use the Service for commercial purposes beyond personal research
- Circumvent access controls, authentication, rate limits, or paywalls
- Share your account credentials with others
- Reverse-engineer our scoring algorithms or proprietary methodology
- Interfere with the Service's operation or other users' access
Violation may result in immediate account termination without refund.
6. Intellectual Property
The composite scoring methodology, software source code, website design, original content, and the AlphaStocks name and brand are owned by AlphaStocks and protected by intellectual property laws.
You may view and use scores for personal investment research, share individual company pages via their public URLs, and reference scores in personal (non-commercial) discussions with attribution.
Financial data is sourced from SEC EDGAR (public government data) and Alpaca Markets. “S&P 500” is a registered trademark of S&P Dow Jones Indices LLC.
7. Market Data Attribution
Market data is provided by Alpaca Markets. Prices may be delayed by 15 minutes or more. Financial statement data is sourced from SEC EDGAR XBRL filings.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AlphaStocks shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including investment losses resulting from reliance on scores, ratings, fair value estimates, or any other output of the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AlphaStocks from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or any investment decisions you make based on information from the Service.
11. Dispute Resolution
Before filing any formal claim, you agree to contact us at legal@alphastocks.app and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, you and AlphaStocks agree to resolve any dispute through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA).
You and AlphaStocks agree that each may bring claims against the other only in your or its individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative proceeding.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting a notice on the Service or emailing you at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
